Not sure what to do with your life?

I remember the day I graduated with an Honours Political Science degree, 2nd Class Upper from one of Canada’s top universities, I felt 10 feet tall and marched with other graduating students into the university’s main auditorium filled with hundreds of people.  I was first in line from Huron University College, the founding college for UWO.  My family had flown in just to celebrate this big day with me.  Like at most graduations my older brother presented me with a massive bouquet of flowers. We all beamed and took lovely happy pictures, friends and all. We threw a party afterwards. It was one of the best days of my life.  I was grateful to God.

When the summer was over, my family went back to Nigeria and I continued to look for a job in London, Ontario. I searched and I searched, guess what? I didn’t even know what I was searching for. I put my CV in for every job advert i saw, no response.  I volunteered for 4 months at an NGO hoping to get something. Nothing. I had never felt so lost in all my life. I met a Career Counsellor at the NGO and I assisted her with some clerical duties. She ignited my interest in True Colours a personality assessment tool. I fell in love with it and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Why am I telling you this story? If I had someone to guide me through this wilderness period of my life I would have been saved a lot of pain, heartache and confusion between the ages of 25 and 26. For almost 2 years I wandered around with just one other love after God, personality assessments.  It became a passion and I stayed up all night at times researching voraciously online.

I turned 35 yesterday, 28th May and I can call myself a Certified Career Coach.  I am also Myers Briggs Certified. A great passion of mine is to help people no matter their age, discover their purpose.
